Set Shooter

Set Shooter activation is one of the top reasons this badge is useless. There are a couple of arguments to be made for set shooter, such as players who like to shoot out of a triple threat or shooters with a low 3 point rating whose defender refuses to close out at the 3 point line. Outside of these scenarios this badge simply isn't practical.

Set Shooter gives a shot boost after standing still before taking a jump shot.

Is Set Shooter Secretly Good?

Testing Set Shooter was actually pretty easy. Our standard jumpshooting script pump fakes before shooting for a consistent release point. This process killed enough time that set shooter simply activates using our jumper script. We ran a 200 shot sample every 10mS throughout the green window for every badge level to see how good set shooter badge really was.
