Pick Dodger

Pick dodger is a badge that has been largely useless in the past. The pick dodge animations were often still unacceptable making the badge unusable. However, this year Pick Dodger is somewhat improved and the abundance of defensive badges that most builds have make it an intriguing option.

Pick Dodger Badge Description

Pick Dodger improves a player’s ability to navigate through and around screens while on defense. At the Hall of Fame level, can blow through screens in the park or blacktop.

Is Pick Dodger Broken?

To test pick dodger we called for 200 screens using the pick and roll 2k mechanics and recorded whether the defender slid past the screen or got caught by the screen. We tested this both with and without turbo. LT/L2 was held while sliding in these results. There are results at the bottom of running into screens without LT/L2.

Should I use Pick Dodger in 2k22?

The results for pick dodger indicate that its probably worth using this year, especially with perimeter defense being more difficult due to the left right meta. If you're 5'10, I'm sorry, you're going to get screened hard and there isn't much you can do about it.
